KUOZUI MOTORS Staff Restaurant, Guanyin Administration Building
The Guanyin administration building is the third staff restaurant Applied Kitchens has delivered for Kuozui Motors, after the all-electric kitchen at the Zhongli plant and the forest-inspired scheme at the Guanyin body shop. Three sites, three different briefs, one method: read the plant and the people who eat there, then decide how the room and the back of house should work.
This one was not won on visuals. The site sits close to the coast, so green gave way to blue. The real work was under the floor slab, and in the few movements a server repeats dozens of times a day. 191 ping (approx. 631 m²), three and a half months, rebuilt from the slab up.

A Coastal Palette

A coastal site called for blue. The straight lines of the earlier projects gave way to hill-shaped curved panels running the length of the dining area, lit by a silicone light line set into the ceiling. Pale flooring became dark timber-grain, chosen for stain resistance so a room this busy still looks clean years from now.
Rebuilt From the Slab Up

The old floor leaked and its drainage channels blocked; patch repairs had never held, so it came out in full. The work crossed two substructures, one over a basement and one over bare ground, so drainage falls and the joint where slab meets earth were set section by section. Grease interception was re-planned at the same time, leaving a base built to last.
Effort Is a Design Decision

Most of the serving team are older women, and a full stockpot is heavy enough to injure a back. The servery was built around that. Openings cut into the stainless counter let a pot travel on its trolley and drop straight into position, so nothing has to be lifted to restock the line. It never appears on an equipment schedule. It is the detail the line notices every day.

Leave the Complexity to Us

Floor, drainage and grease interception through to circulation, equipment and a purpose-built servery: one contract, one point of contact. The client never had to broker between two sets of trades, and could stay on the question that matters: what the meal feels like to the people eating it.
